Welcome to our HEDGEHOGS AVAILABLE web page. This page is designed to
highlight some of the hedgies that we have available for sale at the current time.

Originally we designed this page to showcase some of our PINTO COLOR patterns.

is well known in the hedgehog community for our exceptionally flashy

and well-marked PINTO HEDGEHOGS. Like pinto horses, each animal is
slightly different and unique. By using this page to post the pictures of some
of our PINTO "kids", we felt that our customers would have a better idea of
what marvelous color patterns are available.

Now that this page is available, we have decided to use it to post pictures of
other animals that we currently have in stock also. Check back often, as the
pictures and listings on this page will be constantly changing.

We will make every effort to keep the postings on this page current. However, since we have
full time jobs in addition to the hedgehog care responsibilities, it is
IMPORTANT THAT YOU CALL to confirm the availability of animals listed on this page.

PLEASE NOTE:
1) Most of our hedgehogs are sold locally.
2) When sold locally, they are generally between 7-9 weeks of age.
3) If you are out of the area, and will need for us to ship your hedgie via the airlines, we will not ship them until they are 8-10 weeks (due to the additional stress). So keep in mind that your wait time will be a tad longer than if you are willing to drive to the Chicago suburbs to pick him up.
4) We sell our baby hedgehogs to
PET HOMES ONLY.
(Please no breeder or dealer calls).

Our 14+ years of raising wonderful little hedgies, and the customer referals that come with our reputation, have meant that most of our hedgies are sold to folks through our WAITING LIST, rather than through this page.
Here at HEDGEHOGS by Vickie we are continuously endeavoring to match up individual baby hedgies with families that are the right fit for each other.
Please realize that the length of time that you will have to wait for your new baby hedgehog will be minimized if you are open to a variety of quill colors, eye colors, sexes and price ranges. The more versitile you are, the shorter your wait!

Currently, our average waiting time is 4-6 weeks. The common Standard color hedgehogs generally have the longest wait. Since WE are more fascinated with the fancier colored animals, that is what we tend to produce more of. And we like to mix up our pairings so that we have a few animals of a variety of colors being born at any given time.
We suggest that you spend some time on our COLORS PAGE and determine which hedgehog colors would be appealing to you.
We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to be placed on our WAITING LIST.

CINNICOT SNOWFLAKE PINTO
You will not find a SWEETER hedgie then this little girl!!!! She is indeed something special.
Her base color is a light CINNICOT. (In real life, she is less APRICOT and more CINNAMON... darn digital cameras!) She also carries both the SNOWFLAKE and PINTO color patterns. This means that she not only has patches of white quills, but also solid white quills mixed in with her banded CINNICOT quills. Very pretty!

WOW!!! Here is a color that we don't have often. MALE BROWN SNOWFLAKE
Are you looking for a hedgie with a a SUPER DARK mask?? Well..here he is!!!
What a looker!!! This little guy is great...not just in appearance, but in personality too.
We don't raise many BROWNS, and this guy is a SNOWFLAKE to boot!

This little fella is the brother to the BROWN hedgehog listed above. He is a
CINNAMON SNOWFLAKE
Although he is a more common color than his sibling...he is a real cutie in his own right!!!
What's more...he apparently inherited his family's outgoing personality !

CINNICOT TOBIANO PINTO
This little boy is GORGEOUS!!! He is a high white TOBIANO PINTO with a rare CINNICOT base color. (His base color is a tad darker in real life due to the red background and digital camera.)
His eyes are VERY VERY dark ruby red.
(If we didn't point it out, you would think they are dark eyes).
This little guy hasn't let his good looks go to his head...he is grounded in personality too! These one of a kind hedgehogs don't stay here long...CALL US TODAY!

OK...THIS GUY IS THE RAREST OF THE RARE HEDGEHOGS!! HE IS A
PLATINUM HEDGEHOG
This is a double recessive genetic trait..and we have them few and far between. PLATINUMS have Dark Eyes, Dark Ears, Dark Muzzle, Dark Skin....BUT GLEAMING WHITE QUILLS!!!!
The contrast is striking! Once you behold a PLATINUM in real life...you just gotta fall in love...WE CERTAINLY DID!!!!

Here is one of our BLOND colored hedgies.
He is an APRICOT SNOWFLAKE PINTO.
The PINTO and SNOWFLAKE color pattern is not as dramatic on the pastel colored animals ... But we love our little "DREAMCYCLES"
just the same!!!!!
Now we know that some folks can't seem to get past the Red Eyes...but really...they don't glow in real life like in the camera flash! And if you have a problem with Ruby Red Eyes, it is your loss, 'cause this fella

He is a handsome MALE
CINNAMON SNOWFLAKE PINTO
His base color quills are a very pretty shade of soft CINNAMON.
In addition, he carries the SNOWFLAKE color pattern. This means that solid white quills are interspersed with his banded base quills. It gives him an attractive "frosted" appearance. But wait...he is a PINTO too! What a cutie!
This fella is a friendly little hedgie who will make someone a great companion pet.
